Limerick journalist to host new RTÉ series on climate change

A NEW six-part RTÉ series on climate change will be co-hosted by Limerick farmer and journalist Hannah Quinn- Mulligan.

Heated is a factual series that looks at the implications of climate change for the actual and lived lives of the people in this country – telling stories of hope, inspiration and practical endeavour as we push to cut emissions.

Stories will try to find the intersection between climate change and climate action - for individuals, families, communities and industry.

Hannah, from Croom, told Farm Leader she is so proud to represent Limerick on our national screens in the series, which begins this Thursday night.

“Climate change and supporting nature are only going to become more important and people can feel overwhelmed by the challenge.

“But I'm always heartened to see the changes people and communities are making. From putting bat boxes up along the river walk in Adare to installing native Irish bee colonies in Lough Gur, it’s clear that Limerick is up for the challenge! Hopefully, some of the areas we cover on the new TV series will inspire more positive changes,” said Hannah, who practices what she preaches on her own organic farm in Limerick.

She has put in place measures to cut agri emissions, including a commitment to keep her dairy herd to a very modest 50 cows.

Hannah has worked for the BBC and is a regular contributor to RTÉ Radio, especially Countrywide.

The first episode of Heated airs this Thursday, October 26 at 8pm on RTÉ One.
