ADARE Manor owner JP McManus is in Rome this weekend to witness the 2023 staging of golf's Ryder Cup.

It comes with the five-star Limerick hotel set to welcome the world's leading golfers in just four years' time for the Europe-USA contest.

A group of staff from Adare Manor have joined workers at Limerick City and County Council in the Eternal City as part of a fact-finding trip with the biennial tournament taking place in Marco Simone Golf and Country Club this year.

Limerick Live understands Mr McManus is in that number, the Martinstown man being a huge golf fan himself and a regular attender of Ryder Cup competitions.

The Ryder Cup will head to New York in 2025, before landing in Adare in 2027, with the event set to put Limerick on the global stage.

A council spokesperson confirmed the attendance from local authority staff.

"A small team of Limerick City and County Council staff are in Rome this week as guests of Ryder Cup Europe to meet with Ryder Cup officials on an operational and logistical fact finding trip in preparation for the 2027 Ryder Cup to be held in Adare," they stated.
