‘Risk of disruption’ as wind and rain to lash Donegal

Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Donegal this Saturday night.

High winds may bring a risk of some disruption, forecasters warn, as the west of Ireland faces winds of 50-65km/h with gusts of 90-110km/h expected.

The weather warning has been issued for all of Connacht, Clare and Donegal from 10pm tonight (Saturday) until 8am Sunday morning.

Today’s weather forecast for Ulster said: “Mostly cloudy today with a mix of dry spells and patchy rain and drizzle through the day for most. Persistent rain will extend from the Atlantic this evening

“Tonight will turn wet and very windy in fresh to strong and gusty southwest winds, with gales developing at the coasts. The rain will clear eastwards by morning as the winds veer moderate to fresh west to southwest.”
