Thiruvananthapuram: The heavy rain continues in the state and the state is under high alert against a flood like situation, Indian Metrological Department (IMD) warned of heavy rain in the state to continue till Tuesday and directed to keep high alert in all districts. Fisherman is alerted against venturing to see during the time.
Heavy rain in the state hit Idukki to the most and the water level rose up to 2 and half feet till today and the current water level in the dam is 12 feet. The shutter of Malankara is opened today morning and earlier on last day two shutters were opened. The water level in Mullaperiyar dam also was hiked 111.5 feet and it was marked 111.2 in last day evening. The collector was granted permission to open the shutter of Peringalkuthu dam in Thrissur district. Reports over soil erosion were reported from various parts in the district.
