Alleged link to terror attacks on churches in Sri Lanka

Abdul Khader Rahim, who was taken into custody by the State police on Saturday, is being questioned at a police safe house in the city. He was taken into custody along with a woman hailing from Wayanad district as part of police action against those suspected to have links with the terror attacks on churches in Sri Lanka earlier this year.

The police and security forces have been on high alert after they got information that suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba members are on a terror mission in Tamil Nadu. Mr. Rahim and his companion had arrived in Kochi from Bahrain three days ago. He had approached a city court on Saturday seeking anticipatory bail when he came to know that the police were on the lookout for him. The National Investigation Agency is also checking his possible connection with terror organisations.
