Twenty-three-year-old chef Javaughn Brown, was arrested and charged in relation to an incident which occurred on James Street in the parish in November, 2022.
According to police reports, the deceased – Daniel Smith - was amongst a group of people standing on the roadway, when Brown, who was armed with a handgun, allegedly shot Smith multiple times.
The injured man was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
On Tuesday February 7, Brown was arrested and charged after being questioned in the presence of his attorney.
He was charged for use of prohibited weapon to commit murder and possession of prohibited weapon and ammunition.
His court date is being finalised.
