PNP caretaker appeals for more police resources in Alligator Pond

By Halshane Burke

The People's National Party's caretaker for the Alligator Pond Division in Manchester is appealing for more resources to be provided to the police ahead of the Christmas season.

Omar Robinson is making the call in response to several thefts and break-ins in the Downs area in recent weeks.

Mr. Robinson says business owners who are looking forward to the spending boom during the Christmas period are now being forced to count their losses as thieves have begun to prey on them.

As such, he is urging the government to increase the resources and personnel at Alligator Pond Police Station.

"One service unit cannot work. It just cannot work for this large area and this must be my third or fourth appeal for my people in the area to feel safe by just giving the police more units to work with," he lamented.

He pleaded for the government to show that it cares by increasing resources to ensure people are "safe and secure".
