Deputy Commissioner Fitz Bailey
As part of its strategy to fight crime, the Police High Command has engaged the country's musicians to "tamp down" on the production of music that glorifies violence.
This was disclosed by the head of crime, Deputy Commissioner Fitz Bailey.
Speaking on the radio programme JCF Now, DCP Bailey said there is concern among law enforcement agencies that individuals engaged in crime and violence are being easily influenced by music being fed to them on the airwaves.
He said, "we believe that our musicians can contribute significantly to the reduction of crime, the message that we send is very important."
