A video showing two men appearing to damage the padlock on the gate leading to the Bog Walk Gorge yesterday, has been turned over to the police by the National Works Agency (NWA).
Stephen Shaw, Communication & Customer Service Manager at the NWA, confirmed that the police will be probing the matter to determine whether criminal charges should be laid.
The NWA published the video which shows two men beside a vehicle at the gate leading to the gorge which was closed by the agency due to rising waters in the Rio Cobre.
One of the men is seen using an object to hit the padlock repeatedly in an attempt to open the gate.
Mr Shaw stressed that this has been a constant problem the NWA faces when the gate is closed.
