Policeman arrested for allegedly smuggling contraband into Portmore lock-up

A Constable attached to the Greater Portmore Police Station in St Catherine is in custody following allegations that he was caught smuggling contraband into the facility.

The policeman was arrested yesterday at the Station.

He's facing charges of Breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act and Unprofessional Conduct.

It's reported that about 11 am, yesterday, the Constable, who was assigned to the lock-up, was arrested by other police personnel after a bag with ganja was found in his possession.

Investigators say the bag also contained cigarettes; a small quantity of tobacco, lighter, cellular phone, a pack of playing cards, two packs of rolling paper, two dozen white tablets and three razor blades.
