Pregnant woman stuck in lock-up

A pregnant woman, who is due to give birth in September, is currently behind bars after she confessed to stealing more than $1 million from her employer.

Nakesha Dingwall has been in custody after not being able to pick up her bail offer earlier this year. She has pleaded guilty to six counts of larceny as a servant in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court and is awaiting sentencing. Dingwall reportedly stole $1,250,000 from the complainant's establishment, where she was employed as a cashier, between December 18 and 24.

She has not made restitution and is currently jailed at the South Camp Correctional Facility in Kingston.

Dingwall was remanded in custody following her appearance before Parish Judge Venise Blackstock-Murray yesterday, as the judge she pleaded guilty before was not available.

Dingwall is to return to court on September 4 for sentencing.
