By Racquel Porter

Murder accused Rushawn Patterson was further remanded Wednesday when he appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court in connection with the 2018 assault case involving his ex-girlfriend.

Mr. Patterson is charged with abduction and assault with intent to rob stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred on November 3, 2018.

He is to reappear in court on May 18.

It's reported that Mr. Patterson met with an ex-girlfriend at a service station.

When she got in the car, he accused her of working with the police, then drove her away against her will.

Mr. Patterson later stopped along the roadway where he reportedly choked the woman and inflicted several blows to her body.

According to the reports, he demanded cash from her but she refused.

The police say Mr. Patterson threatened to kill the woman and throw her body away, but she convinced him that she would not make a report to the police.

When he took her back to her car and left, the woman reported the matter to the police.

Mr. Patterson is separately charged with the murder of social media influencer Aneka 'Slickianna' Townsend.
