Two charged for separate robberies in Kingston

Two men were on Tuesday charged with robbery with aggravation in two separate incidents in Kingston.

They are 22-year-old Javaun Clarke, of Mountain View Avenue, and 19-year-old Javani Green, otherwise called 'Jaheim', of Mark Lane.

It's reported that about 10:20 a.m., Green brandished a firearm and robbed a woman of her gold earrings, valued at $25,000 on East Queen Street in Kingston.

He fled the scene, but was spotted by the victim in the area later that day.

The police were alerted and he was arrested.

About 12:55 that afternoon, Clarke and another man approached a man while he was conducting a sales transaction at the intersection of Orange Street and Beckford Street, downtown Kingston.

The man was robbed of $862,000.

The robbers fled the scene.

However, Clarke was nabbed shortly after by a police team.

His accomplice escaped.
