Two men gunned down in Green Island, Hanover

Gunmen struck in Green Island, Hanover on Tuesday morning leaving two men dead.

Their identities had not been released up to news time.

It's reported that shortly after 4 o'clock, residents heard gunfire and called the police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Peter Salkey told Radio Jamaica News that when the police arrived, they found the two men suffering from gunshot wounds. 

The men were pronounced dead at hospital. 

DSP Salkey said investigators are trying to determine a motive for the attack. 

"What we are beseeching citizens to do is to tell us what you know in relation to this crime," he urged. 

He said that the police will be increasing their presence in the area.

Radio Jamaica News has been informed that the deceased are construction workers from Clarendon.

The men were employed on a hotel construction site in Hanover.
