Two wounded in gun attack at 'Price Rite' in St. Andrew

By Racquel Porter

The St. Andrew North and South police divisions are investigating this morning's brazen gun attack in the busy Chancery Street square, more popularly known as 'Price Rite', in which two men were shot and wounded.

About 7:30 pedestrians were sent scampering for cover when two gunmen on a motorcycle drove up and began firing before escaping in the St. Andrew South Police Division.

When the shooting subsided, two men were found suffering from bullet wounds.

They were taken to the hospital by the police.

Superintendent Sherika Service, Commander for the St. Andrew North Police, says it is believed that one of the wounded men was the intended target.

The motorcycle used in the crime was found in St. Andrew South Police Division.

No motive has been established for the attack but the police suspect it is gang related.
