Woman Allegedly Smashes Ex-Lover’s Windscreen, Case Settled

A St. James woman accused of smashing her ex-lover’s windscreen has had her case settled through mediation.

Travea Lyttle appeared before Her Honour Sasha Smith-Ashley on a charge of malicious destruction of property.

According to court documents, on July 8, the couple was arguing at home when Lyttle smashed the complainant’s windscreen.

During the hearing on Wednesday, presiding parish judge Sasha Smith-Ashley asked the parties if they wanted to try mediation, and they agreed.

The case was adjourned momentarily to allow the couple to participate in a mediation session with a probation officer who was present in court.

When the matter was revisited, the court heard that the parties had negotiated an amicable solution, and Lyttle subsequently handed over $45,000 to the complainant.

In light of the mediation agreement, the prosecution offered no evidence against Lyttle.
