Only the sky is the limit for Kobeli

A dream does not become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, hard work and determination. From being a Primary School Leaving Examinations certificate holder as her highest qualification to having a fleet of planes under her name, Mary Kobeli is one woman who never let her systematically limited education define her on going journey – she fought through and, stood her ground. She believed in her dreams.

The Semonkong born and raised Mary Kobeli is a woman who can and did stop at nothing to get to her current top. Kobeli attended school at Tšenekeng Primary School in Semonkong, Maseru. After completing Standard 7 examinations, Mary did not proceed to high school due to lack of finances. She then got married at the age of 15, to have her first born child at 16.  After 18 years of that marriage, she decided to leave, relocating to Maseru in search of work within the clothing industry.

“After the many incidents that transpired in my life, I left the marriage then went to Maseru in search for work at the firms,” explained Kobeli. After four years of unemployment, she moved to South Africa with a friend to pursue her search for work as a domestic helper.
