High Court Judge Redson Kapindu has ruled that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) should give all its evidence to Vice President Saulos Chilima’s defence team before he can take plea in the Zuneth Sattar-related corruption case.
Chilima is this morning appearing before the court for the case, in which he is charged with three counts of corruption for allegedly receiving a $280,000 bribe from businessperson Zuneth Sattar to secure government contracts.
Kapindu made the ruling this morning ahead of Chilima’s second plea, following amendment of the charge sheet by the State.
The ruling has quashed the ACB’s earlier submission that it could not submit some of its evidence because of its sensitive nature.
The court, however, has ruled that the ACB should not disclose its investigation report as it is not important to the case.
