The Ministry of Tourism has re-opened Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe, barely two weeks after closing it.

Minister of Tourism spokesperson Joseph Nkosi said they re-opened the hotel and re-issued it a new licence after meeting the expected tourism standards for running a hotel.

Nkosi hailed Golden Peacock for moving with speed to address issues of cleanliness and sanitation at the hotel.

Golden Peacock Lilongwe General Manager Wang Jianfei said they are happy that the hotel has been reopened.

Wang said the Golden Peacock, which is operating in a number of countries in the region including Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Madagascar and Cote d’Ivoire will ensure that it continues to provide high quality hospitality standards to customers.
