A 26-year-old man, identified as Masambuko Chirwa, has been found hanging from a tree in Chinyanya village, Likoma district.
Police have confirmed the incident saying they suspect that Chirwa committed suicide.
Postmortem result show that death was due to suffocation secondary to strangulation.
Meanwhile, police spokesperson Sergeant Enala Kaluwa has advised members of the general public to always share problems with others than terminating own life whenever they are facing challenges.
Masambuko hailed from Makungwa Village in the area of Senior Chief Mkumpha 3 in the district.
