The elevation ceremony of Traditional Authority (T/A) Machinjiri to Senior Chief has been postponed to a later date.
Initially, the elevation ceremony was scheduled for this coming Wednesday, October 27, 2023 at Namilango Primary School Ground in Machinjiri.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee Alex Chimwala has confirmed of the development in a letter dated September 24, 2023 seen by this publication.
“We the Elevation Committee of the elevation ceremony of T/A Machinjiri to Senior Chief would like to inform you of the postponement of the ceremony to a later date to be communicated. This has been necessitated by circumstances beyond our control,” said Chimwala in the statement.
Chimwala could not disclose the reasons behind the postponement.
President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera recently elevated T/A Machinjiri to the Senior Chief.
