Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema has fired Minister of Information Chushi Kasanda barely a year after publicly sharing love portions with opposition leader Sean Tembo.
Hichilema has replaced Kasanda with Choma Member of Parliament Cornelius Mweetwa.
The President has also promoted Thabo Kawana to the position of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information.
In September last year Kasanda publicly claimed that opposition Patriots for Economic Progress Leader Sean E. Tembo is in love with her.
“I think Sean Tembo is in love with me, even when he looks at his wife he sees Kasanda ,” the Minister was quoted saying.
The remarks attracted backlash with many Zambians calling for her immediate firing.
