Cops trace 532 Covid-19 screening ‘dropouts’

Police say they are looking for 45 individuals for skipping their second screening for Covid-19 after undergoing home quarantine.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have traced 532 individuals who went through home quarantine for Covid-19 but failed to go for their second screening.

Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said 45 others are still being sought.

He told Bernama the 532, who were contacted by phone or through their addresses, have undergone their second test.

Hamid said police received the list of 577 individuals categorised as “dropouts” from the health ministry’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) on Friday.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) managed to trace 303 in Selangor, 156 in Kuala Lumpur, 62 in Johor, three in Sabah, two each in Pahang and Kedah, and one each in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Kelantan and Sarawak.

He advised those who have yet to go for their second screening to do so at the nearest health clinic immediately, and warned that those who continue to defy the order would face stern action.
