Man killed by buffalo in Zambezi

A Zambian man died after allegedly being attacked by a buffalo at Mbowe village at Kabbe South on Thursday.

He was identified as Mubyana Mukwale, and his next of kin have been informed of his death.

Zambezi regional police spokesperson inspector Kisco Sitali confirmed the incident on Friday, saying Mukwale left home on Wednesday to buy maize meal with a friend, who later left him drinking at the local bars.

The friend, however, stumbled upon Mukwale’s dead body in a channel near his village the day after.

“The friend got worried as the deceased did not return home and decided to go look for him, only to find him dead. His injuries are consistent with those of a buffalo attack.

“The body has been transported to the Impalila Clinic’s mortuary. Investigations continue,” Sitali said.
