Walvis Bay schools boosted with textbooks and sport gear

Deep Yellow Limited and its subsidiary, Reptile Mineral Resources and Exploration (RMR), recently donated textbooks and sport apparel to various schools at Walvis Bay.

The donation aims to enrich pupils’ learning experience, granting them access to new educational resources, and enabling sport participation.

This follows a request by Walvis Bay circuit inspector Thesesia Goagoses, who identified a shortage of physics and biology textbooks for Grade 10 and Grade 11 pupils.

Kuisebmond Secondary School received 60 textbooks for physics and biology, while Flamingo Secondary School received netball kits, and Duinesig High School received soccer apparel.

RMR manager Katrin Kärner reiterated the company’s contribution to education and sport.

“The company stepped forward to bridge this gap. We collaborate closely with the division of programmes and quality assurance of the directorate to address educational needs. These students are our future,” she said.

Walvis Bay circuit inspector Thesesia Goagoses highlighted the potential benefits of the donation to pupils.

“The textbooks will enhance the learning experience, while the netball and soccer kits will foster teamwork and instil a sense of pride.”

The total value of the donation is about N$24 000.
