Osinowo Battles Senator Ashafa For Lagos East Senatorial Ticket


The jostle for Lagos East senatorial district ticket in Lagos state appeared to have reached its climax as party leaders, Council bosses and their deputies in the district have publicly thrown their weights behind the aspiration of Hon. Adebayo Osinowo to contest the forthcoming Lagos East Senatorial District primary election of the All Progressive Congress (APC) against Senator Gbenga Ashafa the incumbent lawmaker representing the district.Prior to their public support Chairmen of the Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas within the Lagos East Senatorial District had on Monday at a private meeting with the contestant unanimously endorsed his candidacy for the exalted seat.

The Council bosses made the ratification at a parley with the aspirant, at a meeting held in his Ogudu, Lagos home.

The motion for the endorsement of Osinowo as the preferred candidate was moved by Barr. Mukadas Ogidan, Chairman of Lekki LCDA while the Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Comrade Sesan Daini, seconded the motion on behalf of all the chairmen in the district.

After the lengthy discussion between the aspirant and the council bosses, the chairmen resolved to throw their weight behind Osinowo largely because of his wealth of experience and legislative abilities are currently required at the national assembly at a time like this.

According to those who spoke at the parley, Hon. Pepper is the most qualified for the job at this crucial time in the history of the state. ‘We have come to the realisation that supporting Hon. Osinowo for the position is the very best thing for the district in 2019.

Thanking the Council chairmen for the endorsement, Hon. Osinowo said he is further encouraged by their gesture and as such he is more determined to serve the people of the district at the National Assembly
