Arts teacher shows how it’s done

THE Gerehu Secondary School in the National Capital District celebrated four decades of education on Monday, September 4, 2023.

Grades 9 and 10 arts teacher, Eli Tandoa starred easily; seen dancing in this ALFRED GEE picture with two male students.

We hope to bring you her full story as a performing artist in the coming weeks so readers, keep your eyes peeled.

She sang ‘Show me the Way’ in the Kewabi language of Southern Highlands without the accompaniment of musical instruments, and still sounded fantastic.

The way they calibrate the vocals in the languages up there has alternating ‘highs’ and ‘lows’ that twist remarkably which are refreshing; unique in fact.

When played with music, the artistic flavour is; well, mesmerising.

And Eli’s woman’s soprano voice was a bonus; it’s a kind of sound that makes you react naturally; the tempo is just likeable.

Eli as an artist is charismatic and totally flamboyant when you cross her path. She is definitely an asset to the school and fits the role of a goodwill ambassador.

Log onto YouTube and watch Show me the way by Elizabeth Tandoa and check out all of the above. That’s Pulse for this week.
