Coca-Cola boosts cultural show

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) have announced their backing of the 67th Goroka Show that will be held from the 15th-17th of September in Eastern Highlands Province.

Considered the longest-running cultural show in the Highlands region, the Goroka Show is set to attract more than ten thousand people, including numerous tourists as it coincides with the independence celebrations of PNG.

CCEP’s Commercial Director Tim Solly said they were excited on the partnership forged with organisers to become the non-alcoholic beverage partner as platinum sponsors.

“Coca-Cola is delighted to be associated with the various cultures and traditions that make up Papua New Guinea.

“So in that respect, we are proud to be a part of this cultural occasion to promote the diverse cultures from the people of Eastern Highlands province and the surrounding provinces.”

Solly commended the show committees’ resilience in continuously hosting the Goroka show which has become a drawcard for local and international visitors.

“This is such a great achievement for the show committee, the provincial government and the people of Eastern Highlands for their commitment by upholding their cultural heritage over the last 66 years.”

Goroka Show Chairlady Keryn Hargreaves said the support by Coca-Cola enables the show committee to stage the event with more than fifty cultural groups expected to converge at the National Sports Institute.
