Macdonald stand to silence Eels combo

PNG Kumuls winger Nene Macdonald said it would be pretty tough for him to overcome the Paramatta Eels combination in Fiji outfit and fan favourite Maika Sivo and Waqa Blake.

With the speed, depth and experience in the backline for the Fiji Bati, the Kumuls were left scratching their heads after the injury to Rodrick Tai and ongoing injury to Justin Olam.

The Fijian side has the upper hand in their well-built backline that is looking more destructive but Macdonald for one, hopes he has what it takes to match them.

Head coach Justin Holbrook named centre-cum forward Benji Kot to replace Tai and the combination has to be tested on Sunday.

Macdonald added that he is looking forward to take on the challenge the Sivo-Blake pair would bring towards him.

He said both are NRL-players and being played together for such a while yet the PNG-outfit is here to tear things up.

“Most likely Maika Sivo and Waqa Blake,” the former Sydney Roosters, Titans said.
“Sivo at the wing and Balke at the centre, excited for the challenge.

“Both are NRL players and they both play together at the Eels as well so it’s a bit of challenge for me and whoever in the centre in this game.”

He said Eels winger was the favourite last week, however, he stands committed to silence the chants at the home-turf.

“Sivo is an exciting player; he is always a crowd favourite and he has a good following here so it’s a good challenge for me.

“I love playing here and I scored four, that a pretty good one and I’m looking forward to score five this week,” he said.
