Captain Daniel Smith (pictured) commented that the rest day did them well as they were able to experience the lives of locals following their visit to Hanuabada on Monday.

He said it was refreshing for the boys to get away from cricket for a while.

“We just turned up today (yesterday) with a slightly different mood, probably a little bit more laid back and it showed in our performance.

“We didn’t put too much pressure on ourselves, we just try to execute our skills and we were able to come away with the win today.”

Coach Frankie Walsh said going into the game, they did not have that much pressure, as they have been working on refining their skills with each games that they have played and have aiming to improve each game and for them it’s a progress and they hope to take each learning’s from previous games into the next.

“We were only a little bit off the mark with the ball, and the bat and in the field in our previous two games, there’s a process in place so we just have to trust the process,” Smith added. Smith was also named player of the match in his performance against the Vanuatu side.
