Police want peace, order this week

POLICE in the Western Highlands Province want peace and order in the province with majors events taking place in Mt Hagen this week.

The police are out in force, with manpower support from the four districts to provide security for the Pacific Island Tax Administrators Association’s (PITAA) annual meeting.

More than 20 members from Pacific Island countries arrived in Mt Hagen over the week for the PITAA annual meeting currently being held at the Highlander Hotel in Mt Hagen and will go on for a week.

Western Highlands Provincial Police Commander Chief Superintendent John Sagom said this yesterday.

He also made mention of the passing of Dei MP late Steven Pim, which requires respect and quiet.

Chief Supt Sagom called on the people in Mt Hagen to respect the meeting.

The PPC called on the people to maintain peace and order in the province at this time and going forward.
