SECURITY personnel preparations are underway to receive Hungary President Katalin Novak today (Thursday) in Manus.

New Guinea Island Divisional Commander Perou N’dranou said police and soldiers from the Lombrum Naval Base will be deployed to Momote Airport, Lugos, Pityluh Island and the other visiting areas.

The first rehearsal was done on Tuesday and we are satisfied of how it went, during our debrief at 5 pm.

The second and final rehearsal was conducted from Momote airport, to Lugos, Harbourside hotel, to NBC beach front, on to a small craft, to Pityluh island, back to Lorengau, and then direct to Momote airport for the departure.

“We will have the final briefing at 3 pm this afternoon (yesterday) to firm up all these arrangements for the visit tomorrow,” N’dranou said.

He said everything is going well despite lack of resources to support Police for such purposes.
