Staff of K92 Mining treat patients on World Cancer Day

Staff at the gender division of the K92 Mining Limited have commemorated World Cancer Day with a special treat to the inpatients at wards one and two of the Goroka Provincial Hospital in Eastern Highlands Province last week.

They presented the inpatients with cake cutting and gift packs to cheer them up.

Gender officer Orpah Peter, who led the team during the distribution of the gifts, said they are committed to caring for inpatients at the hospital as development partners in the health sector.

“At least by doing this, we can bring smiles to the faces of the patients,” Mrs Peter said.

She said this was not the first time the Gender staff delivered and distributed gifts.

“And this will not be the last time, as the team will gladly deliver such gifts in the coming years.”

The EHPHA chief executive officer Joseph Apa was overwhelmed and expressed gratitude to the K92 Mining Gender staff for their kind gesture.

“We are so grateful for the kind gesture displayed by the Gender staff of the K92 Mining Limited,” Dr Apa said.

“The company has been very supportive as our partner and has provided and supported us in many ways. And I am sure that the partnership will strengthen and continue in the years to come.”

The gift packs included pillows, diapers and toiletries and the cake was bought from the contributions of the Gender staff of K92 Mining Limited.
