Wenge to support TVET school

Morobe Governor Luther Wenge has made a commitment to support the Pacific Training Institute by subsidising the students’ tuition fee for next year.

Wenge made the commitment during the institute’s third TVET graduation ceremony at 11-Mile campus recently.

He said it was only fitting to give such recognition to Pacific Training Institute because the school provides quality and standard education with innovation techniques for trade certificate not offered in other TVET institutions in the province.

PTI director Sam Ale said the institution has identified the needs of industries and have trained its students to meet and satisfy those needs.

The country has limited technical skills and expertise which was the reason the institution was established because the shortage of workers and skilled professionals in the area can be managed through collaborative partnership and the governor has understood that.

“We have a lot of industries booming up in PNG and we want to empower and train our students to be skilled to bridge this skills gap and have them ready for employment” said Ale.

Morobe is ideal because it is central and the industrial hub for this country therefore the governor is committed to support PTI to empower PNG in nation building by building the human resource with skilled men and women to work in the industries.

Ale said the institution has trainers who are passionate about their work and that passion and hardwork with knowledge and skills were passed on to the students.
