P34B pambayad ng gobyerno sa right-of-way

Naglaan ng P34 bilyon na pambayad ng right-of-way (ROW) para sa mga lupang madaraanan ng mga proyekto ng gobyerno sa ilalim ng 2022 national budget.

Sinabi ni Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel na ang halaga ay halos triple ng P11.8 bilyon na nakalaan para sa ROW ngayong taon.

Ang ROW ay alinsunod sa Article 3, Section 9 ng Konstitusyon na nagbabawal sa gobyerno na basta na lamang kunin ang mga pribadong ari-arian ng hindi binabayaran. Ang pagbabayad ay pinapayagan din sa ilalim ng The Right-of-Way Act (Republic Act No. 10752).

Sa panukalang P5 trilyon budget para sa susunod na taon, sinabi ni Pimentel na P21.3 bilyon ang ROW budget sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) habang P12.7 bilyon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr).(Billy Begas)
