Matutuwa at mamahalin ng mga blogger si Senator elect Robin Padilla. Ipinagtanggol sila nito sa mga kontra na isama sila sa press briefings sa Malacanang sa administrasyon ni President elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Hindi sinang-ayunan ng aktor-poliitiko ang sinabi ng isang veteran journalist na hindi dapat bigyan ng press credentials ang bloggers para makapag-cover sa Malacanang. Paniwala kasi niya “blogging is not journalism.”
Kinontra ni Robin ang pahayag ng journalist at sinabing lahat ng tao ay may right to free speech.
“Sir, it`s not about journalism, It`s about freedom of expression. When we start to identify what is superior and inferior, freedom goes straight to the garbage. Read the constitution, It does not say anything about who is educated or not, who has a network or does not have. It is a right that every Filipino should enjoy as long as it doesn`t violate any law or right of someone else.
“Malacanang or any other government institutions are directly owned by the people. As long as there is law and order, everyone should be welcome, Everyone deserves to know the truth.”
Ipinagtanggol naman ni Senator elect Chiz Escudero si Robin sa pagiging chairman sa Committee on Constitutional Amendments nito.
“Senator Padilla is a qualified as any senator elected to serve as such to chair any committee that the majority decides to elect him,” sabi ng senador.
