WHO: Pagkain ligtas sa COVID

Pinabulaanan ng World Health Organization (WHO) na nakukuha ang coronavirus sa mga food packaging.

Ayon kay Mike Ryan, executive director ng WHO emergencies program, walang ebidensiya na naililipat ang coronavirus sa pamamagitan ng pagkain kaya hindi dapat katakutan ang mga food packaging at food deliveries dahil hindi kumakapit doon ang virus.

Pinag-aaralan na ang isyu ng mga researcher sa China pero sa ngayon, ani Ryan, walang ebidensiya na kabilang sa dahilan ng virus transmission ang pagkain o mga food chain.

“People should not fear food, or food packaging or processing or delivery of food. Food is very important. And I would hate to think that we would create an impression that there’s a problem with our food or there’s a problem with our food chain. We’re under enough pressure as it is,” wika ni Ryan sa ulat ng CNBC.

Ito’y matapos tatlong lungsod sa China ang nag-report ng pagkakadiskubre ng virus sa mga imported frozen food.
