MBABANE – Senior National Team Sihlangu Semnikati Head coach Dominic Kunene has stuck to his troops for the international friendly game against South Africa’s (SA) Bafana Bafana next month.

The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has already sent a letter to the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) for the release of the players, with camp set to commence on the October 8, after next Sunday. Kunene said he trusted his soldiers for the match against Bafana Bafana.“The list of players is not to say that the others involved in the league will not be looked at going into the match against SA. We believe in all emaSwati that they can do the job when called in the national team and trust that the players will make the country proud next month,” he said.

Sihlangu will take on Bafana Bafana in an international friendly match scheduled for October 13 in SA, but the venue is yet to be confirmed. The match was announced by the South African Football Association (SAFA) as part of their upcoming international friendly matches, which include Nambia, Democartic Republic of Congo and Ivory Coast. The SA football mother body is yet to confirm venues for its upcoming series of friendly matches.
The two nations will be using the friendly match to prepare for their respective 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Sihlangu will face Cameroon, Libya, Angola, Cape Verde and Mauritius in the World Cup qualifiers. The country’s two international players Lindo Mkhonta (Zesco United, Zambia) and Justice Figuaredo (Richards Bay, SA) are expected to join the team when the squad reports for full-time camp.
