HERAT, Afghanistan, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Security forces have discovered a weapon cache in Afghanistan's western province of Herat, provincial police spokesman Mahmoud Shah Rasouli said Wednesday.
The weapon cache containing a variety of arms and ammunitions including anti-aircraft guns, mortar mines and thousands of rounds of bullets was found in Kohsan district of Herat province a couple of days ago, the official said.
Police have arrested one person in connection with the cache, the official added.
Rasouli also called upon people to help security forces in discovering weapon caches and collecting arms from irresponsible people.
The Taliban-run administration has vowed to collect arms from irresponsible armed individuals to ensure law and order in war-torn Afghanistan.
