Sources: Turkmenistan and Turkey might abolish visa free regime

Two independent sources of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” have reported that Ashgabat and Ankara are reviewing the possibility of abolishing visa free regime for Turkmen nationals to Turkey.

A Turkish company is currently being registered in Ashgabat which will be issuing all types of Turkish visas, including student, work, medical and tourist visas.

The package of required documents will be first handed over to Turkmenistan’s Migration Office. If they approve exit, the documents will subsequently be sent to the Turkish Consulate in Ashgabat.

The sources emphasize that the final decision has not been made yet and the deadlines for a possible introduction of visa regime with Turkey are unknown.

Turkmenistan previously announced that regular flights to Kazan, Dubai and Frankfurt had been resumed. Prices for airlines tickets have increased several times. Air service with Istanbul, one of the most popular destinations for Turkmen nationals, is still suspended.
