Shakira fans blame karma after singer’s ex Gerard Piqué falls into stage hole: ‘Don’t disrespect the stage queen’

Is “Karma” also Shakira’s boyfriend?

The singer’s fans certainly think so after her ex Gerard Piqué accidentally fell through a stage hole at the launch event for his Kings League Americas 7-on-7 tournament Tuesday night.

In footage obtained by TMZ, the retired soccer star can be seen walking to the side of the stage to interact with his supporters — though he didn’t make it.

As he held up his phone to his ear, he took a step in the wrong direction and plunged completely out of sight, leading his concerned fans to quickly look down over the safety barrier to check on him.

Piqué was reportedly able to maneuver his way out of the hole and did not suffer any injuries from the misstep.

Shakira’s fans immediately took to X (formerly Twitter) to blast the Spanish athlete, claiming the tumble was his punishment for allegedly doing her dirty prior to their separation.

“Don’t disrespect the stage queen and then expect the stage to respect you,” one fan tweeted.

“You can’t escape KARMA 😆😆😂🤷‍♀️ oh well pique,” another user quipped.

A third Shakira supporter added, “The shakira voodoo got him good.”

Others called the fall “embarrassing” and even “deserved.”

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer, 46, and Piqué, 36, announced their breakup in June 2022 with a short message to fans.

“We regret to confirm that we are separating,” the pair said in a joint statement at the time. “For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

The exes share two sons: Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8.

The Colombian pop star broke her silence on their “incredibly difficult” split in October 2022.

“It’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation,” she told Elle magazine.

“And so it’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult.”

She also reflected on her and Piqué’s demanding careers after putting hers on the back burner to be a “present” mother.

“One of the two had to make that effort and that sacrifice. And I did it. I put my career in second gear, and I came to Spain to support him so he could play [soccer] and win titles. And it was a sacrifice of love,” she said.

In January, Page Six exclusively revealed that Shakira was “devastated” after Piqué’s now-girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, was spotted in the background of one of his Zoom meetings conducted at their shared home in 2021.

“[Shakira was] devastated to learn that this woman clearly felt at home in the house they shared with their children,” an insider told us at the time.

The “She Wolf” songstress later released a collaboration with Argentine producer Bizarrap in which she gave more insight into the breakup.

“Sorry, I already took another plane / I’m not coming back here / I don’t want another disappointment,” she sings in the tune (via Billboard’s translation) called “BZRP Music Session #53.”

“You go around saying you’re a champion / And when I needed you / You gave your worst version.”

She continues, “I’m too good for you, and that’s why you’re with someone just like you.”

The last line refers to the former soccer pro’s new relationship with Marti, 24, who he went Instagram official with shortly after the track’s release.
