Deputy Police Commissioner, Papalii Monalisa Tiai-Keti confirmed that the woman has been detained on eight counts of deception.

She is now in police custody while investigations are underway.

Nauer’s name and photos were circulated on social media after members of the public accused her of deception and for posing as a Government official managing the seasonal work program and taking their money.

A week ago, images of several men chasing her vehicle in downtown Apia were captured and reported by the media. The men were reported to be after recovering the money they paid the accused.
