In August this year, Springbok rugby player Franco Mostert and his wife, Juan-Ri, announced that they are expecting their third little miracle – a baby boy. They’ve been sharing some special moments of their pregnancy journey, including their choice in part of their son’s name.
It’s a boy!
On 23 August, the couple shared the exciting news of Juan-Ri’s pregnancy with a fun photo of their family of four as Francois Mostert held a Babygro with the words “Ons klein groot wonderwerk, Boetie Mostert.”
Juan-Ri said: “My Biba – if this little boy is but a drop in the ocean of you, he will make the world a better place. He is so blessed to be walking in your footsteps. Truly the best example of being a man and a daddy.”
In a post with a similar photo, Francois praises his wife for already being such a great mother and says that she’s going to “rock” her third pregnancy even more. And, she clearly is rocking it!
Smooching since forever
The couple started dating when Juan-Ri was only thirteen years old and in a throwback post, she says: “What can I say, we’ve been kissing for a long time.”
The 22nd of September marked Juan-Ri’s three-month countdown, and she celebrated reaching 25 weeks with a post of her in a black unitard, revealing her baby bump. Francois Mostert’s wife will reach full-term on 22 December and says she is still keeping her fingers crossed that she will carry until at least the final countdown on New Year’s Eve.

The life of a rugby wife
After not seeing each other for two months, Juan-Ri Mostert posted a photo of her and her Springbok husband on 5 October, saying that after two months’ wait, she just couldn’t keep herself from crying once she was able to hold him in her arms.
“We missed you, my Heart,” she wrote. “We are proud of you! Thank you for everything you do for us.”
A big baby
In a recent post, where the Mostert family are seemingly joking around with a giraffe called Jackson, Juan-Ri told her followers that they had just seen their son on scans and that “Babes already weighs 1.3kg.” She said that he measures two weeks bigger and taller than his age and that he looks exactly like his dad.
In a heartbeat
Soon after, Juan-Ri shared a post where she said it was so special when Francois Mostert found his son’s heartbeat with a fetal doppler. It is true what they say – a picture speaks a thousand words.
Choosing the baby name
In her latest blog post, which coincided with the start of her third trimester, Juan-Ri shared the name that they have chosen for their son. She writes that their eldest, four-year-old Joia-Belle gave them the name when they first started praying for their third child.
Now, everyone is looking forward to meeting little Benjamin. Juanri adds that it’s not his full name, though, so there is still more to come.
