Government begins the construction of two Mini Hospitals in Luapula province

Government has commenced construction of two mini hospitals in Samfya and Chembe districts of Luapula province in its continued quest to provide health care services as close to the people as possible.

The health facilities, which will have both In and Out Patient departments, surgical services, maternity Annexe, theatre, ambulance and a dedicated solar power system, are part of 108 Mini Hospital’s project funded by NMS Infrastructure UK.

Dr. Chilufya, who is also Mansa Central Member of Parliament and Member of the PF Central Committee said Health facilities will contribute to the attainment of Universal Health Coverage.

Moving the vote of thanks, Chief Kasoma Lwela of Chembe district thanked President Edgar Lungu for delivering on his campaign promises.

Bangweulu and Chembe members of parliament Anthony Kasandwe and Sebastian Kopulande, who echoed similar sentiments, said the mini hospitals will improve health care service provision to the people.

Meanwhile, Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa has appealed to the people to maintain their support for government, as doing so will ensure meaningful development
