NEW: Dhlakama set for ZPC Kariba

SEASONED coach Rodwell Dhlakama is set to return to Premiership coaching duties two months after leaving Ngezi Platinum Stars, with the former Young Warriors gaffer expected to be unveiled as ZPC Kariba coach on Thursday.
Dhlakama resigned as Ngezi coach on February 28, with Benjani Mwaruwari later taking over as the Platinum miners’ mentor on a four-year deal.

Just two months after leaving the Mhondoro outfit, the former Zimbabwe Under-20 and Under-17 coach will resurface in Kariba on a mission to try and help the struggling electricity men.
The Sunday Mail Online can reveal that a deal has been struck between ZPC Munyati and ZPC Kariba in terms of the company policy to make use of Dhlakama’s experience to salvage the latter side’s faltering Premiership championship campaign.

Katuruturu, as ZPC Kariba are affectionately known, have slid into a lowly 16th place on the 18-team log table, having managed just two wins and as many draws in 13 attempts under Godfrey Tamirepi.

Dhlakama had initially been persuaded by ZPC Munyati to assist their team in the Central Region before ZPC Kariba pressed to have him come and “rescue the Premiership team.”

Although the club is only expected to issue an official statement on the set-up of their new technical crew, The Sunday Mail Online has it on good authority that Dhlakama is expected to hit the ground running and take charge of Saturday’s Premiership tie between ZPC Kariba and fellow strugglers WhaWha at Nyamhunga Stadium.

“It’s essentially a done deal and the coach should be travelling to Kariba this Wednesday and take over as head coach.

“Although he entered into an agreement to coach ZPC Munyati, ZPC Kariba also came with their plea for an experienced coach to help the team, which has been struggling in the Premier League.

“So as company policy, an employee can be transferred to a different post and in this case, it is ZPC Kariba who will now benefit from Dhlakama’s expertise,” said sources close to the goings-on at ZPC Kariba.

The electricity men have struggled to replicate their 2014 showing when they took the championship battle to the wire, only to lose to Dynamos on the final day of the season.
They are now in danger of being relegated.
However, club chiefs want to stem the slide.
