A man accused of a revenge murder yesterday begged a magistrate to help him get out of prison.

Brandon Evans made the impassioned plea when he appeared before Magistrate Shaka Serville to receive a voluntary bill of indictment for the October 7 shooting murder of Andy Johnson.

Johnson, who was on bail for the December 2, 2019 shooting death of Brian Evans, was killed after a gunman shot him while at the Blue Hill Road Farmer’s Market.

Since his remand, Evans said that he was being ganged in his cell, and that his cellmates were taking advantage of him for his commissary.

Evans said, “Really and truly, I come to ask you if you could help me in some type way to get me out of this prison. God knows it, I ain’t kill nobody. This really putting a big strain on me; I could barely sleep at night, and people taking advantage of me for my own set of things that my people put li’l money on the commissary for.”

Serville told Evans that, unfortunately, he was unable to consider bail for the offense.

Evans’ lawyer, Domek Rolle, said that he would make a bail application in the Supreme Court.
