Australia Supports Rugby With Fresh Paint for Stadium

Last week, the Australian High Commission, through the Solomon Islands Infrastructure Program (SIIP) donated 260 litres of paint to refresh and upgrade Town Ground, preparing the stadium as a dedicated training venue ahead of the Sol2023 XVII Pacific Games.

Vice President of Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF) Moses Tepai said:
“Thanks to Australia for your continued support. You’re the only country to have helped Solomon Islands Rugby."

"Through rugby, we’re getting young kids off the street and into a much healthy life.”

Through PacificAusSports, Australia is proud to partner with Oceania Rugby and Pacific national rugby organisations to deliver the Oceania Rise Rugby Project, improving access and opportunities for women’s leadership in rugby.

The sporting communities of Australia and the Pacific share a rich history and deep love of sport.

"We recognise the depth of sporting talent across our region. And we believe our sportspeople deserve to train, play and grow together in a thriving regional sports community," PacificAus Sports says.

"PacificAus Sports is working with partners across the region to enhance our sporting communities, unlock the potential of our rising stars, and create new opportunities for our sportspeople to meet and learn from each other."
