An 11-year-old boy died in a fireworks incident in Indiana

An 11-year-old Indiana boy died in a serious injury during a "fireworks incident," officials said. Said on Monday.

Kamurin Ray McMichael of Mount Vernon died late Sunday night on his way to a hospital in Evansville, Indianapolis Police Department said in astatement.. Details of the

incident were not announced, but Kyrra McMichaeltold Courier&Pressthat his son was playing with fireworks.

"He's the dream of a boy of all parents," she told the outlet. "And because the boy is a boy, he's playing with fireworks (and) he's gone. In a blink of an eye. Literally."

Indianapolis Police Department and Mount Vernon Police are investigating the death with the Posey County Coroner Office. Autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Elsewhere, an 18-year-old man died early Monday after a fireworks explosion on his face in the suburbs of Minneapolis.

According to the Minnesota Star Tribune, this was the first publicly reported death from fireworks in Minnesota this year.

Brooklyn Park police responded to the scene around 1:30 am on Monday. Police said he found a man with serious head and face injuries and a friend who was doing CPR to him. The man later died in a local hospital.
