Police said three people were killed and four were seriously injured in a shooting at a shopping mall in Copenhagen.

London-A shooting at a shopping center in Copenhagen on Sunday killed at least three people and seriously injured seven, officials said.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at a Fields shopping center in the Danish capital just before 5:30 pm. Sunday local time. According to Copenhagen police chief Søren Thomassen, a 17-year-old Danish citizen boy and girl, and a 47-year-old Russian man were killed when a gunman fired there.

According to Thomassen, a suspect, a 22-year-old man with a history of mental health problems, was arrested on the scene. He was expected to be prosecuted in a Danish court on Monday for preliminary charges of murder.

He is detained in a closed psychiatric ward, officials said.

Thomassen said the victims appeared to have been randomly targeted and the shooters were believed to have acted alone. He said there was nothing to suggest terrorism.
