Drive-by shooting in Houston, Texasleaves five years -An older child who died from a gunshot wound and an 8-year-old child who was injured at the beginning of Sunday.
Houston police said a woman was waiting at a traffic light at block 13500 on Northborough Drive in the Greenspoint district around 1 am when a dark car passed by.
Two people in the car fired and fired multiple times in a woman's car with two children, she reported Click2Houston.
The mother immediately took the injured children to a local hospital, where a five-year-old child was sentenced to death.
Authorities said the eight-year-old victim was expected to recover. The children are unnamed as of Monday afternoon.
Investigators at the Houston Police Department said it was unclear at this time whether the vehicle or mother was the intended target of the shooter.
Police are watching video from the area to help They were looking for a deadly shooting to chase the suspect.
